For the month of April, we are studying recycling in science. We are learning the negative effects and what positive effects recycling can do on earth. To incorporate writing, students will create an "I Promise" note. We will do a worksheet naming different items that students might use on a daily basis that each one could recycle instead of just throwing it away. Also, each student will be planting a flower seed in a reused two liter or twenty ounce bottle. Each student can choose a flower of his or her choice. We will take care of it daily and keep a journal of the progress the flower has made over the month. At the end, students will be able to take the flower home and keep the process of life going!
